One-Minute-Writer: Week 29

(Note: These are writing prompts of "One-Minute-Writer-Blog")

Monday, July-19: Make. What commonly store-bought item would you like to learn to make? (Or what commonly store-bought item do you already make?)
Self knitted socks. In her rare spare time my mother had made wonderful handicrafts and I was so happy when I found some of her self knitted socks under the Christmas Tree. Unfortunately I haven't inherited her great talent! I have definitely two left hands!

Tuesday, July-20: Conversation. Write about a hard conversation you've had with someone, or that you need to have with someone.
Sorry guys, but I think that's a very personal business. The topic should remain only between me and the other concerning person!

Wednesday, July-21: Flying. Write about something that flies without wings.
Someone's thoughts. Not even sky is the limit.

Thursday, July-22: Fear. Write about something you feared when you were a child.
Well, as a child I was a true tomboy, afraid of nothing ... let me think ... yeah, this might work: When I was about four, I had a little cuddly toy, a dog with long floppy ears. No chance that I'd left the house without. One day, I was supposed to stay at my granny's house, my mother had to come back - we're talking about 60 km! - because my beloved doggy wasn't with me. Damn, I wished I could remember the name of the dog!

Friday, July-23: Bright. Write a brief bit of fiction using the prompt "Bright".
The moment she appeared on top of the entrance steps, the only thing he could see was her. Forgotten was the beautiful decorated hall, even her white dress seemed to fade away. Her cheeks were blushing, her eyes radiating and filled with deep love. She was his other half, the oxygen in his lungs, the beating of his heart. He couldn't believe that he was the one she would say "yes" to ... she, the brightest star of all, she, his bride.

Saturday, July-24: Sneaky. Write about someone you've known who is sneaky.
*imitating-Gollum: "We wants it, we needs it. Must have the precious. They stole it from us. Sneaky little hobbitses. Wicked, tricksy, false!"

Sunday, July-25: Disguise. You suddenly figure out that you are a superhero. You have decided that when you use your powers, you want your identity to be hidden. What disguise will you create?
An invisible one!

Wreck This Journal: Sample Various Substances Found In Your Home.

Notes:
1. I almost felt like a drug dealer while filling the spices in those little plastic bags! *lol*
2. I already have an idea, what I want to do with the true "Smell"-Page, but I'm rather sure, that the smell of this Spice Bazaar is much more dominant than the other! :-)
3. With the banner, I took it this time the easy way: made on PC and printed on some papyrus paper. The "brown stuff" is raffia (bast).

Monday, July-12: Gender. Write about a way in which you don't relate to many other members of your gender.
Aren't women supposed to be addicted to shoes? I'm not! Definitely not! As a teenage girl I LOVED to wear plateau shoes, but then one day I broke my ankle. Not from these shoes, NO! It was much plainer: I stumbled down some stairs - with sneakers on! After recovering I was kind of "shoe-cured". Now you'll find a countable number of useful shoes in my wardrobe. But be sure, I've found another way to spend all the shoe-saved money!

Tuesday, July-13: Frame. If you could frame a moment of your life, and experience it again every time you saw it, what moment would you choose?
Ah, there are a lot of moments I like to frame, but as the anniversary of my mother's death comes closer I wished I had another moment with her ...

Wednesday, July-14: Feet. If your feet could talk, what would they say to you right now?
*waggle-wiggle* Summer is great, isn't it? Lots of bare-footed occasions! But hey, you up there, a little refreshing footbath and some crème treatment would be nice! What do you think?

Thursday, July-15: Summer. Write about a summer activity you enjoyed as a child, that you'd like to experience again as an adult.
I'm not sure, if I'm grown up yet - I still enjoy free summer days a lot. But somehow I miss the jauntiness. The only thing that had bothered me was to be home on time. Swimming, laughing with the other girls, running, joking with boys, eating ice cream and French-fries ... everything was pure lightheartedness. I wished to experience this particular innocent feeling again.

Friday, July-16: Sharp. Write a brief bit of fiction using the prompt "Sharp".
The day the big box arrived I had to leave the house. My man and his boys danced the conga. Like an act of state they celebrated our new monster Plasma TV! With lots of beer, lots of soccer and endless discussions about bla bla bla this and bla bla bla that and bla bla bla whatsoever extra of his new baby!
But be sure, I'll be back. With my girls and a new box with the complete series of "Sex & the City". Revenge is so sweet, my dear!
Oh, you think, I've missed the prompt? Haven't I mentioned the brand of that monster? It was a "SHARP"!

Saturday, July-17: Body. Write about one thing you wish your body was capable of.
The ability to disappear and reappear at my wished destination. *sigh* A weekend on a Caribbean Island, a musical in London, a spicy dinner somewhere in India, a shopping trip in New York ... This would be like magic!

Sunday, July-11: Idea. Write about one of the best ideas you've ever had.
I consider my NEXT idea is the best idea ever.

PRESS RELEASE:
After numerous cases in the US, the WTJ-Virus has arrived on the European Continent. On Infected, like in Germany, weird symptoms can be observed: The affected people show an enhanced manner of destructiveness according to a book. Pages were torn, poked, crumpled, drowned with water or even burnt. As well a childish enthusiasm for colors, pens, glues, stickers and suchlike obviously belong to the concomitant phenomenon of the infection. The way of infection is unclear for experts, because only sporadic cases occur. The virus can attack everyone, independently of age and sex. Which long-term damages could be expected is at the moment speculative. Be warned, it can happen to everyone - EVEN YOU!

One-Minute-Writer: Week 27

(Note: These are writing prompts of "One-Minute-Writer-Blog")

Monday, July-05: Odd. Write about something other people think is odd about you.
I'd like to quote Hedgie, who wrote:
"Nothing, really. Well, okay, maybe the second head."
This is so much better than everything I had in mind! *ggg*

Tuesday, July-06: Butterflies. When do you get butterflies in your stomach?
I'm not in the mood to talk about in-love-butterflies! Let me think ... I guess my sprightliest butterflies I have the moment before I enter a room for a new class of students. You never know what to expect, how they are, if you come along with them, how the atmosphere during the whole course will be. No matter how often I've done this before. My heart beats up to my throat, I can hear the blood rush in my ears and my hands are getting wet. But this adrenaline rush gives me the power to do my best!

Wednesday, July-07: Heritage. What heritage have you received from your ancestors?
Politely speaking, most of my family members can be called hillbillies. With one exception: My beloved mother. Besides her limiting background, she was a free spirit. A person with a great thirst for knowledge. A wonderful mind, open for other countries and cultures. A strong woman and mother. I'm proud to call me her daughter!

Thursday, July-08: Just Say No. Write about a situation in which someone should have just said "no".
Inspired by Jasmine Tea, who wrote...
"September 11.
Why the hell didn't SOMEONE say no?!!"

There are so many situations as well in history as in my personal life when someone should have better said "no". But every medal has two sides: How else should you (and others) learn from the mistakes, if everything is working right?

Friday, July-09: Sequel. Think of a novel or short story you really enjoyed. Write the first few lines of how you think its sequel should begin. (Be sure to tell us what book or story you've chosen!)
No! Isn't it given proof that almost every sequel, no matter if book or movie, is a disappointing disaster? I refuse to think of any kind of sequel ... well, okay maybe, as I'm re-reading Harry Potter series at the moment, I'm curious to know more what had happened with all my beloved characters becoming of age.

Saturday, July-10: Common. Complete this thought: I have an instant rapport with someone when I find out we have this in common:
I have an instant rapport with someone when I find out that we have at least one topic we are both enthusiastic about. Could be a book or a country or a hobby. When I think of my friends I have different people to talk to for different topics. *smiles* I doubt that one friend of mine would come along with another, just because of our/their different interests!

Sunday, July-11: Overdone. Write about a time you overdid it (whatever "it" is!)
I'm a very passionate person. Once caught fire for something, it's my second nature to "overdoing" it. I get so enthusiastic, that I almost completely focus on this project/object/hobby/book/country/whatever. It's hard for my environment, they've already suffer from my various fixations, they call them obsessions. I call it passion!

Wreck This Journal: Close The Journal. Write/Scribble Something On The Edges.

I like Marilyn. I like silhouettes. And here it is - another quick page:
Marilyn was painted with Flake White.
The other colors are soft pastel chalks.
I don't know why, but in a way I'm not really happy with the colors - but ... done, is done!

One-Minute-Writer: Week 26

(Note: These are writing prompts of "One-Minute-Writer-Blog")

Monday, June-28: Water. Write about a memory you have of playing in the water.
I've always loved water. My Mum had quite a hard time with me to get me out of the pool or the bathtub. But I think my most intense memory is when we were in Hurghada/Egypt. We'd made a boat trip and had a stop in the open water of the Red Sea in middle of nowhere. It's hard to describe the feeling within only one minute. To know that between you and solid ground are several hundreds of meters. It's wonderful and exciting and thrilling and scary ... simply just *wow*.

Tuesday, June-29: Introvert/Extrovert. Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? How does this compare to how others see you?
In our life everyone of us plays different roles. The role in my business life demands characteristic like frankness and sociableness, that's why I'm more extrovert there. In my private life I play a whole different role: There I prefer to be introvert. I'm more the silent observer.

Wednesday, June-30: Name/verb. Turn your name into a verb. Give a definition and/or an example of its use.
Nofretiri. Synonym for doing something with passion. Example: The painter Michelangelo had nofretiried the ceiling of the Sistine.

Thursday, July-01: Delegate. What responsibility would you like to delegate to someone else? What responsibility would you have a hard time delegating?
Delegate. Definitely every kind of housework. I'm not really the best housewife. Hard to delegate. For sure everything I enjoy doing, like reading, traveling, etc.

Friday, July-02: Spill. Write a brief bit of fiction using the prompt "spill."
The heat these days doesn't help my creativity. The only thing that comes into my mind is that one instruction of my Wreck This Journal, which says: "Pour, Spill, Drip, Spit, Fling Your Coffee Here." (Haven't done that page yet!)

Saturday, July-03: Six word Saturday. Describe your life in six words.
Quote: "Like a box of chocolates!"

Sunday, July-04: Silly. Write about a time you felt silly.
To make it short: Every time I fell in love! *smiles*

Wreck This Journal: Cut Through Several Layers.

Right Page: Cut out the silhouette of New York and glued some Chinese Paper behind.
Left Page: Used the same Chinese Paper for the background. The NY-collage incl. writing are made with my PC. On top a white oval with the black silhouette of Carrie.
